Binder+Co is a unique enterprise in the world of processing. After all, we offer six elementary processing steps from one single source: comminuting – screening – wet processing – thermal processing – sorting – packaging and palletizing. For many decades now, Binder+Co has supplied individual systems and overall processing plants to the mining and recycling industries. In doing so, we have always placed great value on novel ideas.

Screening machines for electronic waste

Screening of electronic waste is often a complex task for the screening technology. The material is considered to be very difficult to screen because of its shape. Conventional screening systems mostly cannot ensure satisfactory results, because the feedstock is very susceptible to clogging.

With flip flow screens, a driving mechanism with the help of resonance provides two vibratory movements in which the flexible polyurethane screen mats are expanded and compressed in turns, and the hard-to-screen product is separated at high acceleration. The dynamically agitated screen mats thus remain unobstructed and allow efficient screening.

Sensor-based sorting for electronic waste

Electronic gadgets contain a multitude of valuable raw materials, and their re-use is gaining more and more financial importance. Increasingly restrictive landfill and waste disposal regulations speak out ever more in favour of the retrieval of valuable substances.

The CLARITY modular WEEE sorting system is based on the experience which Binder+Co has gained over the course of many decades in mechanical and optical sorting of electronic waste. CLARITY reliably sorts out contaminants from WEEE fractions according to both type and colour. Thus, the WEEE sorting system acts as an important basis for the processing of pure and tradeable secondary raw materials.
The unsorted crude material is fed into the machine and illuminated with light sources. Different sensors such as colour or near infrared cameras recognise the material type and colour. The valves mounted on the blow-off strip are actuated at just the right time, and the foreign material and defined colours are blown off into the corresponding sorting paths.
